Day of Mindfulness with the Oxford Thich Nhat Hanh Sangha on Sunday 7th August 2022.
The day will be led by Dharma Teacher Angie Searle on the theme of ‘Peace in oneself peace in the world’.

Timings: Arrivals from 9.30 am, the day will start promptly at 10am, and finish at 4pm.

This is a 16+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). Sorry but we do not have capacity to care for children on the day.
Cost: The price is £17.60 (which includes the booking fee of £1.60). There are a number of half-priced and free tickets available for unwaged/low waged. Please do contact us if you would like to discuss other payment options.
Where: Pangbourne is ideally situated alongside a beautiful stretch of the Thames with excellent rail and bus connections to Reading and Oxford. The village is easily accessible by car from the M4 and the surrounding district. The hall is approx. 3 minutes minutes walk from the train station. There is no step-free access at the railway station. There are 2 flights of stairs and a covered walkway over 2 railway lines to navigate. Please let us know if you have mobility issues and require a lift from the station to the hall.
Venue: Pangbourne Village Hall – information and directions can be found here. There is a hearing loop and we will have a PA system. There is a large public car park in front of the village hall which is free on Sundays. The hall is wheelchair accessible, has disabled parking for two cars (with access via rear entrance from the car park) and has a disabled toilet. Please let us know in advance if you’d like to reserve a disabled parking place.
Covid Safety: Participants of this event must comply with the relevant Government Covid-19 guidelines in force at the time of the event. Participants must also comply with the Covid-19 guidelines at the event venue. Further details of the Covid-19 requirements will be sent to ticket-holders one week before the start of the event. Please take a Lateral Flow Test in the morning before the event, and do not to attend if you test positive for Covid or have any symptoms of Covid or a cold – thank you. The hall will be well ventilated. Please use the supplied antiviral gels.
Lunch: If the weather allows we will take a short walk (approx. 7 minutes) to the River for a picnic lunch. Please bring your own lunch, and maybe a picnic blanket and/or camping chair. Alternative arrangements will be made for those with mobility issues. Please make us aware in advance if you will require assistance.
Other things to bring: There will be chairs available in the hall but please bring your preferred sitting cushion and blanket for our meditation session. Tea and other hot beverages will be supplied in the hall, but please bring your own if you’d prefer.
Dana: In the Buddhist tradition, the teachings are given freely because they are considered priceless; in the Buddhist tradition we also practice dana, or generosity, by making monetary offerings for the teachings. Also we will invite contributions of dana in recognition of the teachings received on the day. Cash on the day is preferred.

- Setting up the hall and tidying up afterwards
- Organising refreshments
- Bringing flowers and flower arranging
- Organising car-sharing and giving lifts
