Invitation to Serve: Trustee Role at Being Peace Practice Centre and the Community of Interbeing UK (COI)
Support the next chapter of Plum Village UK by helping shape a new centre—and a growing community.
As the Being Peace Practice Centre is closer to becoming a reality, we’re inviting new Trustees to join us in stewarding this exciting and meaningful phase. This is a unique opportunity to serve the sangha while offering your professional skills and life experience in service to our shared vision for a Being Peace Practice Centre and sharing Thich Nhat Hanh’s teaching throughout the UK.
Why We’re Recruiting
As we move into a critical phase of launching and operating the Being Peace Practice Centre, we simply need more hands and hearts to carry this forward mindfully and sustainably, as well as voices and perspectives that reflect the rich diversity of our wider sangha.
We’re seeking Trustees who can bring:
- Greater diversity of lived experience, to reflect and better serve the richness of our wider sangha, across race, gender, sexuality, identity, culture, or background
- Business, charity, or social enterprise experience to help oversee the build and day-to-day running of a new centre
- Fresh energy and capacity to support governance during this busy and important period
This is a pivotal time, and your presence could make a real difference.

Serving in the Spirit of Dana
Trustee roles are voluntary and unpaid, in accordance with Charity Commission guidance. This is an opportunity to deepen your practice, support the sangha, and help nurture the continuation of the Plum Village tradition in the UK.
Any expenses directly related to fulfilling the role – such as travel for Trustee gatherings – can be reimbursed. We are committed to ensuring that financial means are never a barrier to service.
How to Apply
To express interest, please email roles@plumvillage.uk with:
- A short reflection on your Plum Village practice and your interest in becoming a Trustee
- A brief summary of relevant skills or experience and your particular areas of interest
- Your CV (can be informal)
A Note on Belonging
We warmly welcome interest from all practitioners who resonate with our values and feel a sincere wish to serve. If you’re unsure whether you “fit,” please reach out—we’re just as interested in who you are as what you’ve done. We’re also happy to arrange an initial call with a Trustee to answer any questions you may have before applying.
If you don’t feel that you meet one of the criteria but feel it in your heart to serve the sangha as a Trustee, we encourage you to apply.
Dear sangha, dear sibling, we look forward to hearing from you.
