This month our Mindful Morning falls on the Gaelic festival of Imbolc, marking the beginning of Spring, and on the feast day of St Brigid, associated with feminine strength, creativity and poetry, in the Christian calendar.
The morning will be led by Lorraine Sherman, who has been nominated by our Dharma teachers to receive the Lamp Transmission in Plum Village next year, to become a new UK lay Dharma teacher.
Lorraine will be offering poems by Thay, with a weaving of various poets that we can respond to through writing or simply deep listening.
As the light returns, we can allow ourselves to rest and connect with others’ poetic offerings or, if you wish, bring along a poem that inspires your practice.
The sun has entered me together with the cloud and the river
– Thich Nhat Hanh
On the first Sunday of every month, we offer a Morning of Mindfulness led by UK Lay Dharma Teachers, Members of the Order of Interbeing, Monastic Dharma Teachers and special guests.
The morning will typically include a guided meditation, followed by a talk or panel. After a short break, there will be an opportunity for Dharma sharing in groups.
