Honouring Our Ancestor Thay: 2-Year Memorial

This month marks two years after Thich Nhat Hanh’s passing.
The Ceremony of Transformation to Ancestor ends the two-year mourning period for the International Plum Village Community and Thay formally becomes an ancestral teacher of Tu Hieu, the root temple of the Plum Village tradition.

Monastic and lay communities from all over the world will gather to honour our beloved teacher. The Ceremony of Transformation to Ancestor will take place on the 29th January in Vietnam, and the recording with English voice-over will be made available by Plum Village on the 30th January at 5pm UK time.

The 2-Year Memorial Ceremony will be live-streamed from Plum Village France on Sunday, 21st January at 8:30am UK time. There are memorial events held by other centres around the world, please see all the events listed on this page.
