Christmas Gathering & Touching Simplicity with Nottingham Deep Roots Sangha

On Saturday 30th November 2024, Nottingham Deep Roots Sangha enjoyed a Christmas gathering to raise funds for the Being Peace Practice Centre. The event beautifully coincided with an International Walking Meditation in the spirit of Thich Nhat Hanh, in which 100 towns in 25 countries participated in the theme of “Touching Simplicity”. Sangha members were invited to touch the joys and challenges of a self-chosen simple life, to contemplate the simple things that we already have around us bringing great happiness and to support each other in letting go of things we do not need. Our Sangha members sold hand crafted cards, calligraphies and other items and also practiced “letting go” of many books, paintings, plants and clothing for small donations. Following a beautiful lunch prepared collectively, a total of £453.20 was raised which was matched by a generous donor to give a Sangha-tastic £906.40 for the Being Peace Centre Project.
