A Sangha for our times – Earth Care Sangha starts on the 16th September
Here is the foot of a tree.
Here is an empty, quiet place.
Here is a small sitting cushion.
Here is the cool green of the grass.
My child, why don’t you sit down?
Sit upright.
Sit with solidity.
Sit in peace.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Many practitioners are acutely aware that we are living in times of great peril and promise. It is easy to be overwhelmed by feelings of despair, helplessness and sorrow for what is being done to our Earth. Yet, there are so many practices that can help us make a positive difference and bring us hope, strength and resilience.
The Earth Care Sangha is offered as a space for us to come together in a safe and supportive environment to share our feelings and to transform despair and helplessness, finding concrete ways to heal ourselves and all beings on this beautiful planet.
With a diverse and experienced team of facilitators, we will draw on the wisdom and resources of Plum Village France, as well as the Earth Care resources, which can be accessed on the Plum Village UK website.
In this way we can develop our practice, resilience, hope and love, and be able to engage with the world as it is. Rooted in the present moment, we will explore our trainings, to develop our mindfulness, our concentration and the insight of interbeing.
This national sangha will meet online on the third Monday of the month, beginning on Monday 16th September between 7-8:30pm. In the Plum Village tradition, we will offer: a guided sitting meditation, a reading or online teaching, and ample time for Dharma sharing in small groups.
We invite you to join us via Zoom at 7pm on Monday, 16th September to take refuge in this emergent community rooted in clarity, courage and connection.
