“When conditions are sufficient, a cloud transforms into rain, snow, or hail. The cloud has never been born and it will never die. This insight of signlessness and interbeing helps us recognize that all lives continue in different forms.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
On 22nd January 2022 our much loved and respected teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay), passed away. He was 95 years old, and was with his monastic brothers and sisters at his root temple near Hue, in central Vietnam, where he has lived for the past three years.
Honouring Thay and continuing his work in the world, over the next weeks there will be a number of opportunities to come together online as a global practice community. There will be live ceremonies broadcast from Plum Village, France, and the UK lay dharma teachers and senior practitioners will be offering opportunities for practice and support during this time of saying goodbye and expressing our gratitude and love.
On this Plum Village page you can read gratitude messages from all over the world and share your memories of hearing Thay’s teachings or reflections how his teachings impacted you.

Our normal programme of events has now resumed with lots of opportunities to come together and continue Thay’s teachings.
You can also join one of the local Sanghas who are practicing regularly, both in person and online, cultivating energy of gratitude, peace and love.
