Sun 20th March 18:00-20:00 GMT/UTC
In honour of the UN-declared International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we hold in conversation Prof Ann Gleig and Dr Caroline Starkey, who will discuss the emergence and growth of “white awake” sanghas, their role in alleviating the suffering caused by whiteness, supporting the liberation from the social construct of whiteness and growing inclusive communities. They will discuss the intersectionality of race, gender and class and compare USA and UK learnings. We explore whether and how Buddhist practices can cultivate the necessary internal and system changes to grow socially just societies.
