19 May 2023 - 21 May 2023

Carver Church, Lake Rd, Windermere, LA23 2DB

Join us in Windermere, the small town in the spectacular Lake District for a weekend of practice together, learning how to bring more peace, compassion and freedom into our lives. Be surrounded by nature as we practise awareness according to the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, with a programme offered by four monastics from Plum Village, France, and accompanied on the Friday evening by two celebrated musicians and long term lay students of Thich Nhat Hanh, Joe Holtaway and Kareem Ghandour.

We will be spending a weekend surrounded by serene views of hills and close to Lake Windermere . The atmosphere of peace and quiet will allow us to stop running and to calm our anxieties of modern day life.

During the retreat, led by the monastics, we will learn how to come back to ourselves, to relax and how to touch the inner stillness and wisdom always present in each of us, if we know how to listen. Together we will practise meditation, slow walking meditation in nature and deep relaxation to help us to come back to our breath and our body.

We will have the opportunity to share our experience and to connect with others in safe sharing circles.

Our shared meals will be eaten in mindfulness and silence, allowing us to savour and touch gratitude for each mouthful. Eating together will be nourishing and joyful as we reconnect with our body, the food and those around us.

The retreat is a chance to slow down, to practise deep self-care , and to recharge our batteries. By the end of the weekend, we will feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to face the world with renewed energy and clarity.

The retreat is non-residential, please go to the Eventbrite event below for more information about local accommodation options.
